Benefits Of Our Sheets

True Count Not Thread Count

We believe in quality of thread over quantity. One of the biggest myths is that a higher thread count equals better quality.

Thread count is just a measure of how many threads (vertical & horizontal) are in one square inch of fabric.

When it comes to cotton, anything above 300 to 400 TC could mean 2 things: either thinner yarns are used to fill in the space or 2 or more yarns are twisted together to create multi-ply threads. Both these mean, inferior quality.

Why Long Staple Cotton & Single-ply Yarn?

Multi-ply yarns are a group of weaker fibers twisted together to create a false sense of strength and artificially inflate the thread count and mask poor quality.

The longer a cotton fiber the softer the fabric it creates. The fewer yarns are twisted together the stronger it gets.

Single-ply yarn spun from long staple cotton results in finer, breathable, and extremely long-lasting sheets.

The Top 3% Of Cotton In The World

We went and found the longest fibers that can be grown organically, accounting for less than 3% of available cotton in the world.

With our 100% organic GOTS certified sheets, you can rest easy knowing the sheets your bringing home are non-toxic and free of harmful chemicals.

Going organic also encourages safe and ethical production practices that ensure long-term sustainability  and worker welfare.

The bedsheets, pillow covers and duvet cover are incredibly soft, breathable, and cosy. The biggest pull is that they are organic and GOTS-certified, so I’m thrilled they are toxin-free, reasonably priced and luxurious too. A rare combination in this day and age.

I just bought those sheets after i saw it on a friends Instagram. Usually my wife gets her sheets from the US so I thought why not give it a shoot. I must say this felt better than anything she has bought , felt like my bedroom was transformed and felt like a hotel room. I slept so well on these that I might quit my job to just stay in bed. Amazing definitely not importing sheets again !!!!

Sateen Weave

A sateen weave is one yarn-under and three yarn-over. As only one interlacement is happening between each warp and weft, more thread surface is exposed which gives the fabric a soft and subtle sheen.

Washing Instructions

Laundry care for our cotton products:

  • Wash in lukewarm water with like colors on a gentle cycle (wash whites separately).
  • Tumble dry at low heat.
  • Use a warm iron as needed.
  • Do not use bleach.
  • Do not Dry Clean.

To reduce wrinkles:

Shake the fabric out between the wash and dry cycle. Make sure your dryer load isn’t too full so that your sheets can move around. Remove your sheets from the dryer as soon as the cycle is finished to prevent wrinkles from setting.

ORGANIC

- The healthier choice.

Conventional bedding may make your skin itchy or cause other dermatological issues in the long run. Materials are often dyed with toxic inks/bleaches and treated with formaldehyde resin to achieve a “wrinkle-free” look.

Organic sheets on the other hand are free of chemicals and toxins, making them stronger & more durable along with being hypo-allergenic. Buying organic sheets also encourages ethical production practices, social sustainability & worker welfare.

SINGLE PLY YARN

- For that soft feeling.

The less yarns are twisted together, the finer & stronger the fabric. Multi-ply yarns are a group of weaker fibers twisted together to create a false sense of strength, enabling artificial inflation of the thread count.

Single-ply yarn can only be spun from long staple cotton & results in lighter, more breathable, yet extremely long-lasting sheets.

LONG STAPLE COTTON

- Makes a world of difference.

The longer a cotton fiber, the softer & more durable the fabric it makes. Cotton fibers come in 2 lengths:

SHORT STAPLE/FIBERS – Easiest & less expensive to grow. Being short, it can poke out of the weave, leading to a coarser, weaker fabric. Most of the world’s cotton is short staple.

LONG STAPLE/FIBERS – These are the Longest fibers that can be grown organically, accounting for less than 3% of available cotton in the world. These fibers can be spun into softer, finer yarns to produce extremely smooth supple weaves, that wrinkle far less and wear much slower.

In Bedding, this difference matters. Your sheets endure daily use & frequent washing. Long staple offers a more luxurious hand feel whilst standing the test of time, so you can sleep better at night and enjoy the sheets for longer.  The best part is – The more you wash long-staple cotton, the softer it gets.

CERTIFICATIONS

- We’re Legit.

Saying it’s “Organic” might not take things far enough. It can be hard to know if the product you are buying is genuinely organic. That’s why looking for products with reputable international certifications is essential. These certifications are issued by independent global organizations that regularly test “textile products”.

Labels such as “Oeko-Tex Standard 100” or “GOTS” guarantee that the organic sheets that you’re bringing home were produced in a safe, sustainable and socially conscious manner from actual organic fibers. You can also be rest assured that the sheets don’t contain any toxic substances that may endanger your health or that of your family members.

THREAD COUNT

- The most thrown around word in Bed Linen.

When it comes to sheets, one of the biggest myths is that a higher thread count equals better quality. THIS IS NOT TRUE. Thread count is a measure of how many threads (vertical & horizontal) are in one square inch of fabric. When it comes to cotton, anything above 300 to 400 TC could mean 2 things: either thinner yarns are used to fill in the space or 2 or more yarns are twisted together to create multi-ply threads. Both these mean, inferior quality. In a nutshell, when it comes to thread count – it’s quality of thread over quantity.
